All-around athletes: Mount Si’s Rogers, Weber compete 
at state meet

Senior Jenn Rogers put in some of her top performances at a state competition last weekend.

The senior Mount Si gymnast ended her high school career with a fourth place spot in all-around competition, and finals appearances in the uneven parallel bars, floor exercise and vault events.

On day one of the competition, Rogers took seventh place on bars, in a three-way tie with Kelly Richardson of Emerald Ridge and Nicole Moss of Heritage. The next day, Rogers took seventh, with a score of 8.85; Moss finished in sixth, and Richardson in eighth.

Rogers also tied for seventh in the vault prelminaries. With scores of 9.425, she and Claire Gorman of Newport both ranked seventh. In the finals, Rogers scored 9.1 to secure sixth place.

The first day of the floor exercise competition ended with Rogers in sixth place and a score of 9.35. She bettered that the next day, placing fourth in the finals, with a score of 9.525.

Rogers also competed in beam, scoring a 9.1 in the preliminaries, but she placed ninth in the event and did not make it to the finals round.

Mount Si gymnast Abby Weber also competed in the state tournament.
